Russia have taken their time and completely destroyed the Ukrainian supply lines and oil depots and ammunition depots until they can no longer fight.
The war has become a Turkey shoot and firing practice for the missiles and bombs. With heavy losses everywhere in the East on the Ukrainian side.
It will be studied at military academies for years to come. I just can't see how or where the narrative came from that Russia is doing badly.
Less than 3k loses as the Ukrainians are getting near 50k with the Russians being outnumbered 2/1 is quite remarkable. Even more so when it is not a bunch of goat herders they are up against but a well armed/ trained NATO force.

According to the SVR (Russian foreign intelligence agency), Poland is preparing the annexation of western Ukraine under the guise of "historical reunification." Options for the entry of Polish troops into Western Ukraine were openly discussed in Europe back in March, when the United States made it clear that they would not openly participate in such an operation, but would not mind if Poland with a "group of countries" occupied Western Ukraine.
