I'm in favor of allowing an escape route. If it avoids a fight to the death in a city where civilians are trapped, it will have been worth it. Russia and Syria are quite "guilty" of allowing escape routes from Aleppo.
Also note that ISIS is not the only party here guilty of committing atrocities.
