About 50% of engineering time is used trying to explain things to management and get them to support your work.
Maybe 5% - 10% of engineering time is actually engineering.
Dan same for everything...
We used to have technical competent people at places of responsibility, now those positions are full of clones out of the useless business schools, law, etc.
And this is all over the place: private and public sector.
No shit we are in a dysfunctional system.
