Matt, you should definitely let the Justice Department and bank regulators know about this. They are apparently the art degree people since they used the terminology that Taibbi reports so they cease persecuting the big banks based on a figure of speech.

Well there are probably forensic accountants at FBI and DOJ that know what is really going on but Taibbi certainly doesn’t...

Did you listen to the DOJ on this? The spokesperson uses the term "money laundering" to describe the nature of the criminal charges against HBSC. Seems that the DoJ is caught up in all that art degree nonsense. You really should let them know how silly this looks to you. May they will hire some scientists instead of lawyers.

You need brains to be accepted into law or medical school.

I can tell you, Tom, that I did not have the grades for either. My fault because I did not study as hard as I should have. Pity because I did have the brains for either, but was just plain lazy to for that little extra needed. So I went into accounting, for double-entry's sake -- just like everyone else who had nowhere else to go but wanted a decent-paying job. Most enjoyable part of my 3 years in university were the elective courses that had nothing to do with the damn boring accounting/finance stuff -- stuff that can be easily taught in high-school (that's how easy it was).
