France said on Tuesday it planned to "gradually" ban the use of wild animals in travelling circuses, the farming of mink for fur and the breeding of dolphins and orcas in captivity.
Animals rights group PETA hailed the decision as "an historic victory".

"an historic victory"
Why is the "an" article used when there is a pronounced H? It should be "a historic victory."
Maybe they pronounce historic “istoric” the way Trump ignores the h in huge

"Maybe they pronounce historic “istoric” the way Trump ignores the h in huge"
Trump's mispronunciations are some of the finest the world has ever seen. You gotta give him that, Greg. But it's not really surprising considering his orange, rectangular head is mostly empty space inside -- very much like the nothingness that is between the distance of a nucleus of an atom and its electrons. Nothingness.
I remember an American doctor talking about herbs on youtube where he said 'erbs'. So I looked it up and Americans make the H silent, but we British pronounce it.
Isn't it strange how 'H' is pronounced with a silent H?
"So I looked it up and Americans make the H silent, but we British pronounce it."
Shouldn't that be the French, K?

“ Nothingness”
There are electromagnetic fields there.... they are not “nothing”.... we couldn’t be communicating here if they were “nothing”...
Maybe take a course in electromagnetism....
