“ After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, Mulligan earned a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago in 1993.”
Harvard awards an A.B. (Bachelor of Arts) to economics majors. I don't know what he majored in at Harvard but if it was economics, as seems likely, then he got an A. B.
If you want to claim that economists are not scientists, I am on board with that. As I have said many times, social science is philosophy with some scientific method appended, and often just stuck on to impress. And the framework of conventional economics is pretend science.
