There are reasons to believe that the Russian leadership is inclined to view the A321 incident as a direct declaration of war, similar to the 9/11 attacks on the United States. All terror organizations of a certain size are backed by this or that country or financial interest.Upping the ante?
There are also those that are speculating that the destruction was a false flag operation (as some similarly claim that 9/11 was a false flag op).
This is a way that things can spin out of control once there are hostilities and huge interests involved.

what about 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'????
Trump: "if Russia wants to go after ISIS we should just let them...."
We could be looking at the start of a re-unified Christendom going after Islam...
What if that Russian passenger plane was downed by Mossad or the CIA (since they're the ones funding ISIS, along with the Saudis) ... and Russia now wants to go after them?
We probably aren't going to know, but the respective intelligence services will and so will the people calling the shots.
The question is why the US and UK have been pushing the ISIS-did-it narrative right out of the gate — and from the highest level. It's reminiscent of the rush to judgment without providing evidence in the case of MH-17.
Lets see how it develops Roger.... might take a while...
If the Russians really are motivated/allied with the Orthodox side of Christendom then they are imo doing a very bad job on the PR front....
Looking at present just like your typical Russian ham-handed, vodka fueled approach so far...
I guess those darn Arabs didn't appreciate those Putin bombs any more than the Obama bombs - even if the former had little smiley faces drawn on them.
Not necessarily faulting the Russians (but I could); I'm just amused by the Putin-can-do-no-wrong-Obama-nothing-right crowd, and the slow (hope for) recognition of both how difficult this is and how it is good we have a grownup in the White House.
Lebanese newspaper Ad-Diyar published an interesting article, telling about the phone call between Saudi monarch Salman Al Saud and the US President Barack Obama, in which the king reportedly bemoaned the White House's indecision, not allowing time to stop the devastating blows of Moscow to the Saud-sponsored insurgents in Syria . "We have no choice" - the newspaper quoted King Salman - "or you will allow Putin to create an immediate unconditional cease-fire in Syria to end its military campaign, and we intend to revise our alliance with the United States and unilaterally take direct efforts to overthrow Assad , including, if necessary, a military confrontation.
