Pat Lang — "Is There More to the Flynn Story?" Giraldi

"Regarding the actual development of the investigation of Flynn, recall for a moment that we are dealing with at least some individuals at the top levels of national-security organizations who did not hesitate to break the law, leaking information to the media on the highly classified telephone intercepts. " Giraldi*
Yes, there were crimes committed, by the leakers if their reports are taken as accurate.

Pat was more than a former military intelligence officer at DIA. He was DIA director in charge of worldwide covert ops, strategic planner for the JCS, first guy to teach Arabic and Islam at West point (designed the courses), Middle East military Liaison with Israel, and the model for the cigar-chomping colonel for the TV series, The A-Team. That's because he ran a team like that during Vietnam under MACVSOG. That's a short elevator list of what he's done.

Bush during Operation Desert Storm. Expert briefer.

Further down, this is the throw-away line in the years covering his time in Vietnam, when he led MACVSOG = Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, Studies and Observations Group. A big mouthful for a group that operated outside of the military command doing things that only the SecDef, Prez, and head of the CIA knew about.

[…] Clandestine case officer with experience in both counterinsurgency and national strategic arenas.
no shit…
