Tom I seriously cant believe you just post this trash without any offsetting commentary.

"The Obama administration, which intentionally let ISIS grow for its own perfidious aims, "

and in his own fucking link to his own previous article he quotes Obama saying that he was withholding US support in the face of ISIS in order to force Maliki's brutal sectarian regime to become more open and liberal wrt to the sunni and kurd minorities. And this he describes as an insidious act and part of his argument that Obama supports ISIS. This is the worst type of propaganda dishonesty.

And here is a central claim in one of the other links (the article itself is from the guardian):

""A revealing light on how we got here has now been shone by a recently declassified secret US intelligence report, written in August 2012, which uncannily predicts – and effectively welcomes – the prospect of a “Salafist principality” in eastern Syria and an al-Qaida-controlled Islamic state in Syria and Iraq"

Give me a fucking break. Just read the linked PDF at http://www.judicialwatch.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Pg.-291-Pgs.-287-293-JW-v-DOD-and-State-14-812-DOD-Release-2015-04-10-final-version11.pdf

supporting the overthrow of the burtal dictator Assad =/= support of "an alqiada controlled islamic state in Syria and Iraq.

Supporting a balance of power between sunnis and shias =/= US supports ISIS

Have a fucking ounce of honesty.

I would also like to make clear that I am basically a skeptic about so-called evidence and facts, let along reports and narratives.

I don't claim to know who did what to whom when how and why in most cases under discussion here, since I am not in a position to know. What I do suggest is that it is very difficult to discriminate truth from truthiness wrt contentious explanations and accounts.

Critical and creative thinking is required as in all forms of inquiry. Unless one considers the alternatives one hasn't done one's homework.

The enemies of critical and creative thinking are the cognitive-affective biases, ideological blinders, invalid logic, etc.

The generally accepted criteria of truth are:

1. Consistency and comprehensiveness of a model.

2. Correspondence of model to modeled.

3. Usefulness and practicality of the model for purpose.

4. Simplicity and economy of the model.

The means for gaining knowledge are:

1. Observation — direct or indirect through instrumentation.

2. Intuition based on experience.

3. Inference based on premises known to be true.

4. Authority of those in a position to know.

5. Analogy

Inquiry subjects claims to these criteria and means of gaining knowledge.

It's interesting that -- over the years -- the news footage never seem to show ISIS, Daesh, al-Qaeda, or whatever surrendering, or columns of prisoners marching or been interned in prisoners of war camps.

One can think of "fighting to the death" in two ways; after all, we do know what the ISIS guys used to do with their prisoners. Vae victis?
