Maybe with the arrest this week (finally!) by DOJ of the first of the criminal coup plotters against him he felt more empowered to start to finally introduce his policy changes wrt to Russia at this point...

Russia is turning East toward the Eurasian economic union, SCO and BRI as where the real action sin the future and giving the finger to the G7, NATO and the Atlantic alliance.

When Kissinger initially advised DJT, he explained to Trump how under Nixon the US split China off from Russia, who was the main competitor of the US at the time. Now it is China and Trump needs to do the reverse.
Instead, US policy is driving Russia and China into the only potential alliance at this time that could challenge the US and possibly even defeat it in a protracted land war in Asia, which would be Russia and China's fall back strategy.
Trump knows this. And he also realizes that keeping the pressure on Russia to some degree is good politics, since the US is so Russophobic, and it also makes economic sense to feed the the military-industrial complex, which keeps the Establishment off his butt as a bonus.

I challenge Strauss and Jones (or anyone else but especially Keynesians and Monetarists) to prove rising prices provide an overall economic benefit.
Sure, those with first access to money benefit (the banks, the already wealthy, and government bodies via taxation). But that is at the expense of everyone else.
The absurd underlying notion behind the battle cry for inflation is that if prices fall people will stop buying things and the economy will collapse.
