As our planet gets greener, plants are slowing global warming

CO2 is in fact greening the planet, and as the plants absorb the extra CO2, it's helping to keep our planet cooler too. Also, if we manage our soil better we may be able to get get it to absorb up to 5.5 billion tons of the CO2 per year, while being able to grow more food on it. But 40% should be left wild too.

With all of the above, plus switching to green energy, the future may not be so bad after all.

Earth's Soil Could Absorb 5.5 Billion Tonnes of CO2 Annually, if We Get It Right

With the trillions needed to fix the current crisis, we'll get the "we're outta munnie" after this so we won't be able to deal with climate change. And those same people will push for a pound of flesh out of the working classes in order to "put our fiscal house in order", "eat our peas" as Obama put it.
So while this is a perfect time for a new new deal, it'll likely in fact be the opposite. We've already seen from the proposed 1.8T stimulus package, it's heavily weighted towards bailing out corporations and they're trying to get by on the cheap for the rest of us.

In a few years Bernie's talk of "political revolution" will sound cute and quaint in comparison to the populists on the horizon.
