Reuters — Trump says wants defense buildup to project U.S. power abroad

President Donald Trump said on Thursday he wants a U.S. military buildup of more ships and planes to "project American power in distant lands," ....

Trump this week proposed a $54 billion increase over last year in defense spending, boosting the Pentagon budget to $603 billion, and said he wanted to launch the biggest military buildup in American history to make up for what he called a depleted armed forces.
US global hegemony alive and well under President Trump.

More disinformation. First, BO budgeted a $36b increase, so Trump "only" increased it $18b. Second, and more to the point, the $603b number does not include appropriations for ongoing wars (+/- $100b), veterans affairs, nukes (separate budget under DoE), Homeland Security, etc., all of which bring the total annual military budget to around $1 trillion.

There is also paramilitary.

$ that go to intel and black ops are under the table, too. National security secrets.

Then there is also funding for NGOs that are sub rosa operational arms of government too.

The State Dept. should probably be included, as well as the corporate media propaganda arm.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_projection

"Power projection (or force projection) is a term used in military and political science to refer to the capacity of a state "to apply all or some of its elements of national power - political, economic, informational, or military - to rapidly and effectively deploy and sustain forces in and from multiple dispersed locations to respond to crises, to contribute to deterrence, and to enhance regional stability."[1]"

This is a real thing...

We learn power projection from our parents when we do something wrong that the parent, a giant to a kid, threatens us with punishment. That is projecting power aimed at dominance.

Many if not most social relationships even among animals are based on power projection as dominance-submission. It's called "rolling over."
