In another universe could I be the President of the United States? Well, most likely yes according to the maths and laboratory experiments.
At every moment we are splitting into different parallel universes, maybe infinitely so, and so in some of these universes we are living completely different lives.
I liked some of the replies under the video.
. There's a version of me out there that understood the whole video.
. Yeah, but it would be extremely unlikely.

OMG....
A world where Matt Franko has an art degree...
JR none of any of that has anything to do with solving these material problems we have due to the “out of money!” morons in control...
Leave the material issues to the material competent people...
That other stuff will take care of itself...
"As contrasted with the method of the mind — which has its foundation in sensations and proceeds through inference and proofs to conclusions — there is the more direct method of the heart. The heart intuitively grasps the values that are progressively realized in the life of an individual as he goes through the diverse experiences of the world, and as his attention is centered on arriving at spiritual understanding. In the life of most persons the mind and the heart are at loggerheads, and the conflict between the two creates confusion.
""The heart, which in its own way feels the unity of life, wants to fulfill itself through a life of love, sacrifice, and service. It is keen about giving instead of taking. It derives its driving power from the inmost spiritual urge, expressing itself through the immediate intuitions of the inner life. It does not care about the proofs or intellectual corroborations that the mind seeks while dealing with material objects.
"In its objective handling of the material world, mind is saturated with experiences of multiplicity and separateness and therefore feeds the egocentric tendencies that divide humanity and make it selfish and possessive. But the heart, feeling in its inner experiences the glow of love, has glimpses of the unity of the spirit and thus seeks expression through self-giving tendencies that unite humanity and make it selfless and generous. Therefore, there is necessarily a conflict between the inner voice and the deliverances of the intellect, which are based upon the apparent and superficial aspects of life.
"When the mind encroaches upon the province of the heart, it does so by requiring assurance or conviction as a precedent condition that must be fulfilled before there is a release of love. But love is nothing if it is not spontaneous. It cannot be a conclusion of reasoning. It is not a fruit of the spirit of bargaining. If you want to be certain about the object of love before giving your love, it is only a form of calculating selfishness."

Wanting to obtain an art degree is a matter of the heart. I'm not so sure about STEM degrees... the need for certification is paramount in today's labour market.
Matt's art degree envy has become a running joke on this forum... he should've followed his heart while remaining mindful of MMT.
Yo its like Tom posts from Meher here:
"there is necessarily a conflict between the inner voice and the deliverances of the intellect, which are based upon the apparent and superficial aspects of life."
These material matters are SUPERFICIAL... HELLOOOOO!!!
They are NOT EVEN HARD to do IF you are trained properly... all it ever takes is time and munnie....
They ARE hard for YOU PEOPLE... YOU PEOPLE are NOT TRAINED and NOT QUALIFIED in any of this..
You people should STAY THE F_CK OUT OF IT....
The ONLY thing YOU PEOPLE should do is complain to US if you are disatisfied with material outcomes and YOU tell US to FIX IT...
That is the ONLY THING you people should be doing...
Do you people even realize that the whole of current Christendom basically runs under the conduct of charitable works in material systems?
The WHOLE... THING ...
If we ever get these Art Degree morons out of civil government the whole of Christendom is going to have to shut down... they will have NOTHING to do...
You people are as bad as Christendom...
To you people its ALLLLL about material... like material is this BIG DEAL or something...
Youre hypocrites... "under-deciders".... you cant make a decision...
In this case the question is "Is material important/profound or not?"
You people cannot decide if it is or it isn't...
It isn't...
Platonism 101... never make a decision... never judge the situation... "the broad gate"...
DOES.... NOT.... WORK.... in material matters...
It funny though, What you people do though is JUDGE PEOPLE but you WONT judge material systems...
So what we should be judging, ie material systems, you people wont judge...
And then what we SHOULD NOT be judging, ie people, you people judge ALL THE F_CKING TIME...
Yes, I judge people who believe that "we're out of money!".
I criticize material systems that pollute the environment.
Matt sounds like Archie Bunker.
Matt’s arguing with himself again. Winning, double trigger, check mate. There are some simple ways to cool down. Breath in breath out.....
Tantric breathing is a great way to cool down :)
I wouldn't want to be in a plane where the pilot harbors animosity towards those with art degrees. I wouldn't want to end up as collateral damage.
Human error and programming bugs have their similarities. Human error is easier to anticipate however. Easier to engineer against.
Everyone wants to be fulfilled. Everyone seeks contentment.
And not just humans. Even Trump is seeking it.
Relatively few living orgamisms require spiritual enlightenment in order to experience contentment. Family, hobbies, careers, and other adventures are sufficient for the vast majority. If we lived in a culture that emphasized enlightenment or esoteric knowledge, more people would be 'persuaded' to seek those particular avenues.
The realm of fantasy and imagination can also be tools for fulfillment. In a sense, that is their purpose. Do not look upon them as inferior methods.
The pursuit of science can lead to contentment, as with any career. What science reveals about the universe is less likely to engender fulfillment. Its description of reality may leave many hearts unsatisfied.
Contentment is not the purpose of science, or of rational thought. That is like using a chisel to open a can of paint.
'I' is plural. Your body is a biome. Remember that during the next bout of diarrhea.
The external enviroment is a biome on a larger scale. You may categorize your bodily biome as being separate, yet in reality it is dependent. The process of evolution has ensured this relationship.
Everything on Earth is a product, or in other words, the result of processes. Some products, such as the ground beneath our feet, are long-lived. So is the biosphere. Some species, such as the dragonfly, can trace their lineage for hundreds of millions of years. Living organisms on the other hand, are ephemeral. They are part of the whole, but won't exist for nearly as long as the whole. They get recycled.
There are many kinds of people, but you can distill them into those who are fulfilled and those who aren't.
If you aren't fulfilled by doing what most people do (culture, behavior), you are part of a minority. A majority of hearts are content, a minority are not. To not accept this, is a sign that one is an activist.
Activists and malcontents cannot rest. It it a coincidence that those in leadership positions tend to be activists or malcontents?
Esoteric knowledge is for the few. We have yet to see a 'renaissance' that will rewrite the rules of the game.
The 'I' is plural. From the bacteria in our gut to the mitochondria in our cells. Consciousness is limited to perceptual information, most of which is ignored. Consciousness is unaware of autonomic processes carried out by the brain and other organs. It experiences merely the sum of those processes.
I am a sum. My body is a community of organisms that co-exist. I do not experience this, I have been led by science to understand it in this manner. I don't find this to be fulfilling, but I accept it. Some people might have another reaction, and find it horrific.
When I accept that I'm a misfit, I am content.
The less I fear death, the more contented I feel.
The search for fulfillment has led me down a path that few have followed. It is not a path for those who are guided, or driven, by passion.
Interesting in the EU (and around the globe) where all of the material systems (health, commerce, politics) are at loggerheads with each other because they cannot put human beings first. Just a little bit of fear is all it takes.
In the old days, we feared the jaguar, the hyena, the tiger.
We feared the weather.
Now we fear running out of money.
Try not to laugh.

We are talking about people's lives, their joys, their sorrows, their hopes and dreams, their despair. These are referred to as affairs of the heart. To follow one's heart is a common expression.
Is english not your first language?
If you cannot accept the usage of this word, which is understood and experienced by many, then you are failing to communicate. Instead of appropriating terms, come up with your own. It's up to you to describe the concept.
Heart and mind are placeholders for emotion and thought. They can be categorized to draw a distinction, but in practice, emotion is dominant. Perception/reaction/action is preferable to perception/analysis/action. Preferable because its faster.
We perceive the world and that is our reality. To the extent that human perception is similar, that is our shared reality. The perception/analysis of your existence - who you actually are - is called introspection.
Do I live in an introspective culture? Hell no!
Awareness of death is not limited to humans. It is hypothesized that organisms die because they are no longer needed once they have procreated.
Sentient organisms evolved to cling to life, to fear pain, to fear death. To live long enough to procreate. The non-sentient have the ability to metabolize energy and reproduce somewhat more passively.
Anti-natalists have no qualms about expressing their disdain for the limitations of life. So do trans-humanists. On one hand there is the perspective that life involves too much suffering, serves no purpose, and should be avoided. On the other, that physical/mental limitations should be transcended through technological means.
Why is it stressful being you?
Sharing thoughts on a forum that takes itself so seriously that it becomes entertainment, should be an escape from stress.
