Ok, so Sumner really is that dumb. And I'll be goddamned if his writing doesn't ooze propaganda and a weird sense of entitled smugness which appears to be based on the bubble in which he encases himself. He managed to hit every right-wing shibboleth in that post and I doubt he taxed himself to do it.
Also, is he completely unaware that economic performance has dropped as deficits have dropped? Will his head explode if someone informs him of this or will he just ignore it as usual?
Agreed. Sumner is such a hack. I rate him slightly above Mankiw because he at least allows comments at his site (and answers pretty regularly as well) but his disdain for Keynes is beyond irrational. He comes across to me as a petulant little weasel. Snickering with his friends and rolling his eyes when he hears the name Keynes brought up. In truth he must be really scared of Keynes' ideas cuz he sure spends A LOT of effort trying to show how wrong they are.
For a supposed "academic", he lacks intellectual honesty.
It's great that Sumner noticed that most of the people in Bermuda have black skin and it is one of the wealthiest nations on earth. Usually, economists consider skin color a taboo topic. Sort of makes them uncomfortable, they tend to look away and comment about random things, really anything besides that one elephant in the room. The unstated premise about Black skin being associated with poverty, won't offend or surprise anyone of any skin color, especially black skin. Hard to be an economist and not discuss inequality. Even harder to have an honest discussion about inequality and not talk about skin color.

Doubt his head will explode. It's encased in a classified, experimental version of the Bozone Shield.
Iron Domehead. It's being prototyped in car dealerships & US Embassies. Israel has already stolen the design & sold it to China as well.
Many other client nations are also clamoring for access to Iron Domehead. Clearly favoring it over more fighter planes.
They all want Bermuda training rotations as well.
