Moon of Alabama — Trump Ends The Nuclear Deal With Iran - What's Next?

Analysis.

"b" doesn't mention it, but all analysis needs to focus on the big picture, in which China is the only adversary that the US perceives as an actual threat to permanent US global hegemony. Russia is just a sideshow in this.

Therefore, every analysis should ask what US policy and actions imply with respect to China.

An obvious economic goal of the US is to be able to shut down the export of energy to China. This is an overarching aspect of what's up in the Middle East and Central Asia.

"b" does make another point is highly significant. The US is alone in this policy shift, and the country itself is split on it.

It doesn't make strategic sense and seems to be another blunder in a region that the US has committed a number of blunders already and mired in unwindable wars. Overreach is how empires fail.

"b" mentions this.

The US has a history of non honoring its word. This is not only dis honorable but it is also evidence that negotiating with the US is waste of time.

I am told that Israeli electronic counter-measure units started a massive jamming effort against air defense assets in Syria three days ago. Israeli ground forces on the Golan Front have been placed on high alert. IMO a false flag attack on Israel is likely. pl

Thanks to our wonderful regime of Modern Money, the Sovereign States of American are no longer revenue constrained and can marshal unlimited resources to help Israel completely flatten both Iran and Lebanon.

I read a quote somewhere from a banker in England back in the 1800's, saying $money is not a constraint - and if the people knew that, there would be rioting in the streets.

I think the TPTB have always understood this - certainly they don't 'act' like there is a $constraint, starting with the military (what they do, not what they say). War production (marshalling limited resources out of the skin of the earth and persuading available labour) for WWII proved that in plain daylight; if any of them had any socially conditioned doubts. Flattening Iran and Lebanon is a less than a human decision first - then a matter of technology and greed. The worry about paying for it in their understanding, just a few key strokes (the human cost doesn't have any value).

The cycle of acquisition and revenge; 200,000 years old and counting ....

And yet peace is the essence of every human heart.

There is no rioting because average people WANT to be lied to. Average people reject the truth even when the truth is explained to them in clear and simple terms.

Below, for example, Alan Greenspan admits that the U.S. government can pay any debt, since the government creates money out of thin air…

It doesn’t matter. People reject the truth no matter who explains it to them.

Each person has his own reason for clinging to the lie that the U.S. government is revenue constrained. Conservatives cling to the lie so they can falsely claim that “entitlements” are “bankrupting America.” Liberals cling to the lie so they can falsely claim that wars and the weapons makes are “bankrupting America.”

Therefore when anyone calls for something that will help average people (e.g. Universal Medicare) the peasants all screw themselves by chanting in unison, "How will you pay for it?”

If you somehow convince the peasants that the U.S. government can pay for anything, the peasants respond that Universal Medicare would cause hyper-inflation. If you point out that every industrialized nation except the USA has some form of Universal Medicare, the peasants respond that the U.S. government has a “debt crisis.”

The peasants will say anything to rationalize their poverty. They will say anything to justify remaining in their prison cell, even though the cell door is wide open.

The peasants are slaves because they choose to be. They insist on suffering. They will defend their slavery with their lives.

Meanwhile we have liars like Bernie Sanders calling for a “jobs guarantee” at the level of state government, where he knows that it can never work, since states are revenue constrained (unlike the U.S. government). In Sanders’ state of Vermont he pushes for Universal Medicare at the state level, since Sanders knows it can never work. (Universal Medicare can only work at the federal level.)

In this way, Sanders pretends to “care,” while he makes sure to please his oligarch masters by deliberately keeping the peasants in misery.

“The US has committed a number of blunders already and is mired in unwinnable wars.” ~ Tom Hickey

For the USA today, all wars are winnable, since “winning” means keeping a war going forever. Perpetual war means perpetual profits for the weapons makers than bribe politicians.

This is why the corporate media outlets are terrified of peace in the Korean Peninsula, for example. Peace is not profitable. Peace is boring. Peace with Russia would reduce the power of the Russia-gate hoax. Peace would mean the peasants would not weep with pride when they see military displays at football games. World peace would make it harder for Israel to justify its non-stop atrocities. Peace is “anti-Semitic.”

Peace is evil. It is un-American.
