The Saker — The history of the Neocon takeover of the USA (a 4 part analysis)

If you didn't catch this as it was published serially, the Saker posts all four parts.
Foreword by the Saker: the four articles below, combined into one, are an exception to the normal rule which is that this blog doe not republish articles already published in the past. In this case, at the request of Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould, I decided to make an exception due to the importance and interest of the topic: the origins of the Neocon movement. I am particularly grateful to Paul and Elizabeth who have agreed to my request to remove the original copyright restrictions on this material for publication on the Saker blog. The analysis they wrote offers a very valuable insight into the roots and history of the Neocon phenomenon.

Interesting comment over there:

"It is a mindboggling achievement to go down the rabbithole of this conspiracy to the above represented extent, and not mention jew, jewish, zionist, or israel even once"

Where the connection lies is between Zionism and wealthy and politically influential Jews that support it not only with external funding but also political influence. Sheldon Adelson is a poster child. However, it is not just Jews. Zionism is also supported externally by certain Christians who believe that they are involved in events leading to the imminent Second Coming.

Zionism is strongly opposed by many liberal Jews both in Israel and abroad.

The history of Zionism was complicated by the Holocaust, when a lot of Western people concluded that the Jews needed a homeland. This was congruent with the Zionist cause, which had begun in Eastern Europe owing to anti-Semitism. The Zionist movement was launched formally by Theodor Herzl in 1897.

Zionism was initially promoted by Britain, hence Anglo. The US joined later, especially post WWII, when the US became the dominate global power, succeeding to the British Empire through control of the sea and therefore international trade.

Zionism is based the rationale of the Land of Israel (Eretz Israel) having been promised in perpetuity to the Jewish people as the children of Father Abraham. Obviously, this kind of rationale has no standing in a modern naturalistic and scientific world other than with religious fanatics.

When it is coupled with peculiar Christian beliefs about the conditions surrounding the Second Coming, there is a potent mix of religious fanaticism in an area of considerable Islamic fanaticism.

This is a very dangerous mix. Western leaders should not be involving themselves in it for political gain. It is totally irresponsible and likely to end very badly for everyone involved.

This is important because even mentioning this is likely to get one accused of anti-Semitism. As a result there is insufficient pushback against the crazy.

Between that and all the OT fascination there is nothing you can do...
