Tesla believed 9 was a sacred number, here's one of the reasons why.
Why are there 360° in a circle, is it arbitrary? Well, divide 360 in half and you get 180. Now look at this -
360 : 3+6+0 = 9
180 : 1+8+0=9
90 : 9+0=9
45 : 4+5=9
22.5 : 2+2+5=9
And so on....
You mathematicians might know all this, but it was fascinating to me. This video is all about mathematical sequences like this. Yes, it's gets a little crazy in places with the occult stuff, but it's very interesting just the same.

These patterns are simply the result of the base 10 system. Different bases (binary, hex, oct, etc.) create different patterns.
I did a search on Tesla and it's not known if he thought the numbers 3,6,and 9 had any special significance. There seems to be a cult around Tesla and it is believed that someone else attribute this to him. Some say Tesla was a showman and a con artist, but it seems he did invent the radio and the Marconi patent was overturned. Tesla had several breakdowns and he would hallucinate. He died penniless. Not a happy man, it seems.
