Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to him whose life is bitter.
Let him drink and forget his poverty
And remember his trouble no more.

Open your mouth for the mute,
For the rights of all the unfortunate.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.
Proverbs 31:6-9 [bold added]

Since alcohol distillation was not invented until the 13th century, then I surmise that "strong drink" in the Bible included a drug(s) of some type. If so, then note that drug use for enjoyment is also allowed by the Bible:

You may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household. Deuteronomy 14:26 [bold added]

What the Bible does forbid is drunkenness; not the relief of pain, depression or simple enjoyment of alcohol or drugs.

So drug testing per se is simply more evidence that the country as a whole, including very many church-going purported Christians, fails wrt understanding the God of the Bible.

Agree with Matt, it’s not a free will choice.

Just make a free will choice and don't take drugs. Have some character and inner strength.

Yeah! Say that to those who got prescription drugs for pain or the kids on the streets.
