The good news is that the number of Americans who go bankrupt from student loan debt is zero, since student loan debt cannot be discharged through bankruptcy.
Lenders can’t lose. In cases of default, lenders are reimbursed by the US government, while student loan debtors remain debtors for life.
And because lenders can’t lose, there is an abundance of credit. Because of the abundance of credit, college tuitions, like housing prices, keep going up and up. Hence the indebtedness keeps getting worse and worse.
Welcome to America, bitches.
C'mon! Who is posting this stuff? You should know that it's Warren B. Mosler, not Western B. Mosler.
The top reason why Americans file for bankruptcy is medical expenses.
But at least Americans don’t have “socialism.”
